Our June 2026 class is under way, unfortunately we cannot accept additional students at this time. We expect to have another class in October 2026. If you are interested, you should use the form below to sign up to that class, and you will be contacted prior to its opening. This is the Visual Flight Rules Course; the Instrument Pilot Ground School is offered as a separate class. If you think you might be interested, please fill out the form below (you may change your mind later).
The class usually meets at 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM on Wednesday evenings for 12 consecutive weeks.
You also must have a Jeppesen Private Pilot Kit and a FAR/AIM book to successfully complete the classes. The pilot kit costs about $325 (exact price may change) and contains the Private Pilot Syllabus, flight manuals, study guides, a pilot’s logbook, a fuel tester, a flight bag, and many other items that you will need to pass your FAA Private Pilot’s Examination. Tuition for the 12-week course is expected to be $150.
You are not required to be an Aero Club member to take ground school, but you will need base access and you will need to be a club member to take flight lessons or use the Aero Club’s planes, thus we prefer for the ground school’s students to at least be eligible for club membership. Please do not use this form to ask for someone to get back to you regarding primary flight training or joining the Aero Club – for that, please contact the club directly, and consider whether you are eligible to join the club.
Note: Some of you may have already purchased the kits, but if you have not, let us know and we will order one for you.
